We are proud to announce our technical contribution to the realization of the report “Global Training, Local Value”, the study on the economic impact of the activities of the ILO International Training Centre (ITCILO) presented on Monday, December 1st, 2025, at the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin.

On the occasion of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the Centre, it was shared how the presence of the UN Campus positively influences the economic fabric of Turin and the nation. Our firm, in close collaboration with Spinlab, managed the delicate phase of processing and reclassifying the economic and financial data.

MV Partner’s technical role: from balance sheets to real impact

The core of our intervention consisted of a granular analysis of the biennial preliminary budget data for 2024-2025. The study work allowed us to transform accounting figures into measurable economic indicators.

Specifically, the processing activity carried out by our firm concerned:

  • Mapping a biennial budget of 60.5 million euros: We analyzed and reclassified the Centre’s cost items, from training services to Campus operating expenses.
  • Sectoral attribution: Through a detailed analysis, we linked the individual accounting items to their reference economic sectors (tourism, construction, business services), allowing the econometric model to calculate the precise effects on local supply chains.
  • Analysis of expenditure territoriality: A crucial step was to identify, item by item, the share of investments that remains in the Turin and Piedmont territory compared to the foreign share, thus ensuring that the calculation of the impact (Direct, Indirect, and Induced) was rigorous and adherent to reality.

The results: a concrete value for Turin

Thanks to this rigorous methodology, which combines our data with Input-Output models, the study highlighted that the ITCILO generates a total economic impact in Italy exceeding 62 million euros. Of this figure, a full 79% (equal to 49.1 million euros) falls directly on the City of Turin, a clear increase compared to the 2017 surveys.

The sectors that benefit most from this presence, as emerged from our data segmentation, are tourism and hospitality and the events and culture sector, confirming how international cooperation acts as a driving force for local businesses.

A significant institutional event

The presentation of the study saw the participation of key figures, including the Mayor Stefano Lo Russo and the top management of the Turin Chamber of Commerce.

For MV Partner, having actively participated in the “construction” of the data for this report is a confirmation of our expertise in complex economic and financial analysis. Contributing to scientifically measuring the value that institutions like the ITCILO bring to our territory is part of our commitment to consultancy that looks not only at numbers but at the collective well-being of the economic community in which we operate.

The full report is available for public consultation and testifies to how Turin continues to be a world capital of training.
